Geography and Climate
The five islands composing the Maltese archipelago are Malta, Gozo, Comino, Cominotto and Filfla.
The Archipelago is located in the South East of Europe and south of Sicily. The total area of the Maltese islands is 320 km sq, whilst the coast line is 140 km in total. The islands are mainly low, rocky, and flat and many coastal cliffs speckle the Maltese shores.
Snow and frost never bash the Maltese Islands. On the contrary, even rainy spells are quite short and the sun always manages to peep out again fast. Malta is lucky with the frequent visits of sunshine it enjoys.
Temperatures mainly range from 14°C to 28°C. The highest temperatures are present from July to September. Malta’s climate creates an ideal idyllic atmosphere as locals and visitors alike bask under the ever-lasting sun and bathe in unpolluted sea. It is definitely an ideal holiday destination as well as a place of residence and flight from the harsh weather elements of northern countries.
